The emails get the new look
The site moved from the dark terminal look to cream paper and Caslon, and the emails and on-screen confirmations moved with it. Four of them, before and after.
What changed. Since the spring, the contact receipt, the newsletter welcome and the three notices that come to help@areactor.org had used a dark template: capitals in a typewriter face, cyan and purple on navy. On 1 October 2026 the site took on a new look, cream paper and ink blue with an evening version in brass on warm black, set in Libre Caslon Text. The emails now share one letter style in that look, kept in one file, functions/lib/email-look.js: a masthead over a double rule, a small spaced label, the body in Caslon where the reader's mail program has it and Georgia where it does not, and an italic footnote. The colors are written into each tag, because mail programs ignore stylesheets. The confirmations that appear after the contact, homepage and newsletter forms, and the two unsubscribe pages, moved onto the site's stylesheet the same day.
What stayed the same. The wording. Every line is as it was, including the "[SUCCESS]" lines, which are waiting for a rewrite. One button changed: "Click to Close" reloaded the page and emptied the form, so it now leads somewhere. The contact and newsletter pages offer Return home, and the homepage form offers Back to the top.
Every picture below was made by running the site's own code with sample details.
